Frequently asked questions

What is psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy, or talk therapy, is a way to help people with a broad variety of mental illnesses and emotional difficulties. Psychotherapy can help eliminate or control troubling symptoms so a person can function better and can increase well-being and healing.

Problems helped by psychotherapy include difficulties in coping with daily life; the impact of trauma, medical illness or loss, like the death of a loved one; and specific mental disorders, like depression or anxiety. There are several different types of psychotherapy and some types may work better with certain problems or issues. Psychotherapy may be used in combination with medication or other therapies. What does the therapeutic process look like?

The therapeutic process looks different for everyone. At Eunoia Wellness, your process will start with a free 15-minute consultation. During that time, you and your therapist will determine if you are a good fit for one another. After your intake appointment is scheduled, you and your therapist will discuss reasons for seeking treatment, goals, and other topics that can help you in your mental health journey. Your therapist will be happy to walk you through this process and will continue to provide space for you as you navigate your mental wellness.

Does Eunoia Wellness Boutique take my insurance?

We are happy to provide you with receipts and documentation to submit to your insurance carrier for reimbursement. Services may be covered in full or in part by your health insurance or employee benefit plan. Please review your coverage carefully, and consult with your insurance provider. Consider the following questions when determining if your insurance will reimburse you for therapy:

  • What are my mental health insurance benefits?

  • Has my deductible been met?

  • How many sessions per year does my health insurance cover?

  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?

  • Does my insurance require pre-approval from my primary care physician?

Why self-pay?

There are many reasons clients choose not to use their insurance to pay for therapy. Some clients may not have insurance that pays for mental health services. Paying out of pocket is the most private way to obtain services. There is no reporting of services to your insurance company and there is no chance that they will ask for any documentation, progress notes, treatment plans, etc. In addition, in order to obtain services through your insurance company, a mental health diagnosis is required. With a self-pay option, no diagnosis is required. Eunoia Wellness Boutique current rates are $200 for an initial assessment and then start at $150 for subsequent 50-55 minute sessions. Extended sessions may be available for additional fees. Please call to discuss these options.

What are your current rates?

Individual psychotherapy is $195 per 60 minute session. To some, this may seem expensive, however when seeing a therapist, you are placing what’s most important (your individual self or your relationship) in the hands of someone who is licensed and well qualified to help you change your life. It is worth every penny to find someone that has extensive knowledge and training in this field. In addition to your weekly session, your therapist can provide you with supplemental resources to help you continue your work outside of the therapy office. This approach is specifically designed to help you reach your therapeutic goals and give you maximum results in your journey.

How long does therapy take?

There is no specific time frame when working on personal development and growth. Depending on the type of changes that you are looking to make and the variety of issues that you are attempting to work on, therapy can last from a few sessions or much longer. Remember, healing has no time frame. Some find therapy to be extremely beneficial and choose to make it a long-term process. Ultimately, you can gauge a more accurate time frame once you have started to see progress in sessions with your therapist.

Does Eunoia Wellness Boutique prescribe medication?

We do not prescribe medication at this time, but we are able to work with clients who may currently be on medication and those who are considering taking medication. We are pleased to connect you with our qualified preferred Psychiatrist or Nurse Practitioner.

How long does a therapy session usually last?

Psychotherapy sessions usually last about 55 minutes. Eunoia Wellness Boutique does offer extended sessions (based on availability) at an additional cost.
